ONE Launches New Shuttle Service Connecting Asia and Mexico

The service begins on Aug. 16 and includes stops in Shanghai, Busan, and Lazaro Cardenas.

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced a new shuttle service, the Asia Latin America Express 4 (ALX4), to address the growing demand for cargo transport from Asia to Mexico's West Coast. This service will enhance ONE's network and provide more options for customers shipping goods between these regions.

The ALX4 service will begin with the vessel ONE Reputation, which is scheduled to arrive in Shanghai on August 16. The service's port rotation includes Shanghai (China), Busan (South Korea), and Lazaro Cardenas (Mexico), before returning to Shanghai.

ONE's statement highlighted that this new service offers a premium loop rotation for trade from North Asia to Mexico and increases network coverage and frequency between Asia and Mexico. The ALX4 will complement ONE's existing services—ALX1, ALX2, and ALX3—further strengthening its Asia-South America network.

The launch of ALX4 comes at a time when Mexico's West Coast ports are becoming increasingly important for shippers, offering an alternative to the Panama Canal and serving a growing number of imports as Chinese factories set up operations in Mexico. This new service capitalizes on the strong freight rates for container trade between Asia and Mexico, providing shippers with reliable and efficient transport options.
