Pitney Bowes Opens Advanced Mail Sorting Facility in St. Louis

The new St. Louis center can process up to 1.2 million mail pieces daily, boosting Pitney Bowes' capacity

Pitney Bowes announced the opening of a new 45,000-square-foot mail pre-sort services center in St. Louis, MO. Located at 13955 Riverport Place, Maryland Heights, the largely automated facility processed nearly 100,000 mail pieces on its first day and is expected to handle up to 1.2 million pieces daily.

“The opening of our new St. Louis operating center underscores our commitment to operational excellence and superior service delivery,” said Debbie Pfeiffer, Executive Vice President and President, of Pitney Bowes Presort Services. “This facility marks a new chapter of growth, improved efficiency, and enhanced capabilities, positioning us to better meet the evolving needs of our clients.”

Pitney Bowes has been in the St. Louis market since 2015. The new facility features advanced sorting equipment, a comprehensive conveyor system, and nine loading docks for incoming and outgoing shipments. An open house for clients is planned for early fall.

This facility is part of Pitney Bowes' national Mail Exchange Network and processes various types of mail, including First Class Letters, Marketing Mail, and parcels. In 2023, the company pre-sorted nearly 15 billion pieces of mail and parcels, helping clients save on postage and streamline mail handling.
