Headquartered in Irvine, California, and operating 400 stores across 48 states, Boot Barn sought to optimize its parcel shipping operations which play a critical role in its diverse retail landscape encompassing B2B sales, robust e-commerce platforms like bootbarn.com and marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay.

Under the leadership of Donald Petersen, Vice President of Supply Chain and Logistics, and Melanie Kirk, Director of Supply Chain and E-commerce Operations, Boot Barn aimed to proactively manage the complexities of parcel shipping costs, a significant expense impacting margins and customer service.

Facing challenges inherent in fluctuating carrier contracts and evolving shipping regulations, Boot Barn had previously relied on traditional supply chain firms for limited insights into their shipping data.
