Company officials said that this new facility is strategically positioned to efficiently service the most significant and demanding consumer population in the U.S., adding that Pyle also has plans to expand the campus to further accommodate growth in New York City. 

This new Bangor facility will extend access to Pyle’s LTL, warehouse and distribution and dedicated freight capabilities, in turn providing the company with the ability to serve more customers in the Bangor area. In tandem with its Portland, Maine-based LTL service center, the addition of this facility enables A. Duie Pyle to provide more comprehensive, full-service center coverage throughout Maine, the company said.

Company officials said this is A. Duie Pyle’s first service center in West Virginia, even though it has provided service for shippers there throughout the last year.

A. Duie Pyle said this new facility will add warehousing and distribution, consolidation, deconsolidation and integrated solutions, including load consolidation and final mile dedicated services, for its regional network.

Company officials said that expanding its supply chain services to strengthen routes and transport goods in West Virginia, increases its service commitment to shippers by expanding access to key areas and clients across the state. And they noted that by adding West Virginia to its service footprint, it completes the company’s Northeast/Mid-Atlantic core footprint.

The company said that this new 266,585 square-foot facility is comprised of a less-than-truckload (LTL) cross-dock, full-service fleet maintenance garage, office, and warehouse space. And it added that in order to meet surges in shipping and COVID-19-driven e-commerce demand, the company has filed permitting for a 100,000 square-foot warehouse.

Westchester, Penn.-based freight transportation and supply chain services provider A. Duie Pyle recently announced it has expanded its Westfield, Mass.-based Integrated Distribution Center, which re-opened late last month.

Company officials said that the driver for this new location was to provide the company with the opportunity to be closer to its shipper customers in Maine and northern New Hampshire. And they added that Pyle will offer customized less-than-truckload (LTL) and Custom Dedicated operations out of the facility, which it said will provide greater flexibility and higher service levels for shippers in this region.

Company officials said this new service center will augment its Northeast network and boost its morning delivery and pickup operations in metropolitan New York and Long Island.

Freight transportation and supply chain services provider A. Duie Pyle Inc. recently rolled out a new unit, entitled the Customized Solutions Group (CSG), which is comprised of four different business segments: Custom Dedicated, Truckload, Brokerage, and Warehousing & Distribution.

The trucking industry faces a dual threat of a looming people shortage and a surfeit of regulations that affect profitability and will result in continued consolidation in the industry, according to Steve O’Kane, president of A. Duie Pyle.
